Walk this Way! ......This Way!

Yay for Young Frankenstein references. So I've gotten roped into She Stoops to Conquer. That's OK, Laura, Chip, David and I will have fun playing the goon squad. I get to do a Geico Gecko accent and walk around weirdly, so it's going to be a fun time.

I haven't posted in over a week. Darn. I was doing so well, too.

Last night, Eric and I went to a party with his highschool friends, Jason, Steve, Alan, etc. And I decided to get into the gin. Except it was Beefeater gin.....yeah.....not the finest of gins, really.....instant heartburn! And it's probably good to mix gin, beer, and pretzels dipped in mustard....

DOESN'T THAT SOUND DELICIOUS? I bet your mouth is watering, right now.

We came up with the most horrifying idea ever last night - wasabi-based hard liquor. Basically, if we could just ferment wasabi somehow....sounds good, huh? Writhe.

I don't know why I'm so fucking tired tonight. I had to drive my dad downtown for him to "check out" of jail. My dad was under house-arrest for five days. It's a long story. But mostly in reference to the 3rd DUI that he got about eight years ago, and now after eight years of no drinking he wanted to go back into Douglas county and face the music. They more or less just gave him a slap on the wrist.

We had lunch at Le Peep on Saturday, and I had the most incredible penne pasta with sauteed veggies and grilled Alaskan salmon. I've had a lot of salmon this weekend, actually, because while under house-arrest at my grandma's house, my dad made some baked salmon with lots of lemon, butter and dill. It was tasty. He also made a clam/cram chowder, which I still have some of and plan on getting into later tonight.

I'm currently drinking açai berry tea. Try it.

Dream

I had a strange dream the other morning...

I dreamt I was visiting Nicole on the day before she died. Which didn't happen in real life - I hadn't seen her for weeks. But I remember a couple other people around, and then at one point, they left Nicole and I alone for a few minutes. As soon as they were gone, Nicole sort of leaned in towards me and whispered something quickly, not like it was frantic, but more like it was an important secret...

She said, "Leave with me."

And I looked at her, and this emotion came over me...it was like a sort of longing, but also kind of having to let go of something, like part of me wanted to go with her, but instead I told her something like, "I can't, I've got so much more to do here, people need me still..."

I don't really remember much else about it. But when I woke up, I didn't feel upset. The experience was relieving, in a strange way. I felt almost like I'd gotten to tell her something (or perhaps myself something) that I'd needed to say for a long time.

OK, Time for Another Post

Don't really have much to go on about, just thought I should post, since I think it's been over a week...or something like that.

Well, Minnesota was lots of fun. (John, we missed you.) Especially Dark Iowa. Especial the Red Lights Zone of Dark Iowa. Drive north of Des Moines some night, you'll see what I mean. Nah, seriously though...we got to see about half of the Mall of America (well, by "saw half" I mean we passed through half of it - we only got to go to a handful of stores, really). And Avenue Q was hysterious and hilarical.

I have the Bad Idea Bears as my new computer wallpaper. Look 'em up. They will destroy you. Adorably.

Finally took Mel to see Sweeney Todd. Gore, Mel! Gore, I say!!

I've got a pig staring at me. From my co-worker's Christmas card. It's a pig in a santa hat. Well, a piglet, rather. It's kind of cute. But I like pigs. They delight and amuse me. Well, smaller ones, anyway. Not so solid on the 6-foot hogs in the mud pens...

We're going to see Doubt tonight. And tomorrow, I'm doing box office. Yippers. Saw they got a good review by Fischbachedy. Yes, I'm calling him Fischbachedy.

Minnesoter-Bound

Yay for another short work week! But now, the holidays will be over and it's back to the grind. Bleh.

New Years was fun, as always. Though, there were less people this year at Don and Misty's. That's ok. More drinks for us! And drink, we did. We went to Perkins afterward, where the service was awful. I think we waited about 45 minutes for our food, and there was barely anybody there.

Not really much else to say. This is a very uneventful blog. Um...more about New Years, maybe? Oh, we played my "Would You Rather" game, but never finished it. We accidentally left Eric's tequila rose and butterscotch schnapps at their place. And I ate a bunch of cheese.

I downloaded a bunch of Damien Rice songs, reminding me of Shining City and how much I wanna see it again.

Jeremy, did you scaramouche? Sorry, we couldn't really hear what you were saying...it's way more difficult to decipher bar noises over the phone when you're drunk.

We leave for Minnesota to visit Tim and April in a couple days. Huzzah! I've never been to the Mall of American before, and we get to go see Avenue Q. Yays all around.
